North Arkansas Regional Medical Center volunteer programs for different ages.
Volunteer Coordinator for NARMC is Rebekah Lovell, who appeared this week on KHOZ's "Around the Table" program with Kim Rosson. Lovell said she and Kim recently started two new youth volunteer programs for students in grades 9-12.
The Junior Program is for students who are interested in a future medical career. The volunteers would be paired with different departments to learn more about hospital operations while the Junior Engagement Team (J.E.T.) Program is for students that may want to be involved in the organization but not in the medical side. Lovell says those volunteers would work in the gift shop or at other hospital events. Rosson says that the addition of both junior programs gives students that need volunteer hours to go towards their graduation would have different ways of earning those hours. Students interested in volunteering can get information from the hospital's website.
Information was also provided about other volunteer programs as well as the upcoming hospital foundation's "Miles for Hope" 5K and Fun Run on Saturday April 18.
