Fire Hazard Followed by Rain

The weather forecast calls for some significant changes as the calendar moves from February to March.

After a quick system drops temperatures down slightly today, a big warmup takes place Friday and Saturday with temperatures into the 70s during the day. Low humidity and high winds have forecasters warning of a elevated fire risk for both days. 

A larger frontal system will bring in a significant chance of rain Saturday night into Sunday, then rain chances remain in the region through midweek. 

While the temperature drop may bring some wintry precipitation to central and northern Missouri, the Lakes Region is forecast to stay warm enough that all precipitation will fall as rain.
