Max Stumpff, age 80, of Cassville, Missouri.

Max Stumpff, age 80, of Cassville, Missouri passed away peacefully at Circle of Life in Bentonville, Arkansas Friday, June 6, 2025 surrounded by a mighty presence of love and care.

Max, the middle son of Donald Mylone and Barbara “June” (Blankenship) Stumpff was born August 5, 1944, in Cato, Missouri where he spent his early years. Later he moved to Cassville, Missouri with his family. Max was a man who lived his faith. As a young teenager he was saved and baptized in the waters of Flat Creek.

Max married his high school sweetheart, Yvonne (Writer) Stumpff on November 20, 1964 in Cassville, Missouri. They were blessed with two daughters, Tricia Yvette and Tonya Mylene. They made their home in Springfield, Missouri returning to Cassville so the girls could attend Cassville High School from where he graduated with the CHS class of 1962 serving as senior class president and president of the student body. He continued his education at Southwest Missouri State University earning a degree in animal science. He retired from the Springfield – Greene County Health Department after 36 years in milk control enforcement. Max served as president of Missouri Dairy Fieldman & Sanitation Association. He received the 1988 Missouri State Fair Family Award and was president of the Barry County University of Missouri Extension Council. He received the Distinguished Service Award from the Missouri Milk, Food and Environmental Health Association.

Corinth Baptist Church was his home church. He was a Sunday school teacher, chairman of the building committee, pastor's search committee and usher for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Stumpff; one daughter, Tonya Sanders and her husband Charles of Gravette, Arkansas; one granddaughter, Remington Minor and husband Jackson of Rogers, Arkansas; three grandsons, Brant Vaught and his fiancée Samantha Makela, Braiden Vaught and wife Brianna and Brody Vaught and fiancée Sydney Thorvaldson all of Cassville, Missouri; six great grandchildren, Bennett, Brecken and Blakely Vaught and Hudson, Hunt and Linen Minor and one to arrive soon; one brother, Roger Stumpff and his wife Gaye of Cassville, Missouri; two aunts, Bonnie Ragain and Alice Stumpff; one uncle, J.R. Redding and several nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tricia Vaught; his parents; brother, Rex Stumpff and niece, Sunni Stumpff.

Max had a great love of baseball both playing and coaching for many years. He loved raising beef cattle and horses and had traveled all 50 states and Great Britain, but his favorite was the mountains of Colorado.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 16, 2025 at Corinth Baptist Church in Cassville under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Jerry Nickle and Pastor Donnie Spears will conduct the services. Burial will be at Corinth Cemetery in Cassville, Missouri.
