Marvin Verne Kuipers, age 87, of Hollister, Missouri.
Marvin Verne Kuipers, age 87, of Hollister, Missouri, (formerly Gilman, Illinois) passed away November 12, 2024. He entered this life July 31, 1937, in Watseka, Illinois, the son of Verne and Lula “Ruth” (Haram) Kuipers.
Marvin was very musical and could play most any instrument. He was a band director in school for more than 37 years. He also coached baseball for a time during those years. Marvin was a die-hard White Sox fan but also could be found fishing or playing horseshoes. Many of those teaching years involved a treacherous class called “Drivers Ed.” He had great love for both of his families, the Gerbers, and the Kuipers. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Marvin is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris Kuipers; and stepdaughter, Kim Kuipers.
Marvin is survived by two sons: William (Shelley) Kuipers of Sarasota, Florida and Mike (Tina) Kuipers of Hollister, Missouri; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with many other friends and extended family.
