Kathy Urban

Kathy Urban, age 80, of Cassville, Missouri.

Kathy Urban, age 80, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, to Stephan and Mary (Stafko) Bernard, Kathy was a proud graduate of Cleveland High School. She later made her home in Cassville, where she dedicated over 20 years as a trusted bank teller at Boatman's National Bank and Bank of America.

Kathy was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew her. She loved life deeply, laughed often, and brought joy wherever she went. Whether she was hosting gatherings or just spending time at the lake or the casino, Kathy had a gift for making the ordinary feel special. Her greatest joy was her family. She adored her children, Mark (Kelly), Todd (Laurie), and Paige, and was endlessly proud of her 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she made sure they always felt loved, supported, and celebrated. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and love — a gathering place for both family and friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Lynn Speakman, and her sister, Patsy Kemper. She is survived by her loving husband, John Urban, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many dear friends — all of whom will miss her fiercely.

A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville, Missouri, with Pastor Jim Clay officiating. She will be laid to rest at Clio Cemetery in Jenkins, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. Monday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

In honor of Kathy’s memory, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Kathy lived with an open heart, a ready laugh, and a deep love for those around her. Her memory will forever be a blessing to all who were lucky enough to know her.
