Harold Dean Smith Sr., age 75, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away September 18, 2023, in Huntsville, Arkansas. He entered this life March 22, 1948, in Galena, Missouri, the son of Harold and Helen (Stohr) Smith. He was joined in marriage February 7, 1970, to Shannon Marcella Walker.
Harold proudly served our country in the United States Air Force. He worked as a machinist for many years. Harold was known as a stubborn man, yet he was generous and a jokester at heart. He collected antiques and pens and was gifted as a candlemaker. Harold was a loving husband, father, grandpa, and g-g-paw. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Codi Salmons; brother, Roy (Bonnie) Smith; and nephew, Roy Smith Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shannon Smith; daughter, Tonia (Ron) Mahler of Omaha, Arkansas; son, Harold Dean Smith Jr. of Springfield, Missouri; five grandchildren: Nikita Hardesty, J.T. Hardesty, Gage Salmons, Amberly Morgan, and Colton Lloyd; five great-grandchildren: Cole, Zaadyn, Winter, Lia, and one on the way- Raydon; brother, Rick Smith; and many other loved ones and extended family.
