Charles Newton Knatcal, Sr., age 83, of Purdy, Missouri.

Charles Newton Knatcal, Sr., age 83, of Purdy, Missouri passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at CoxHealth Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri. 

He was born June 14, 1939 in Cooperstown, Illinois the son of Charles E. and Bertha Evelyn (Barnett) Knatcal, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were two sisters, Mary Ridenour and Stella Antle. 

Surviving are two sons, Charles Knatcal, Jr. of Purdy, Missouri and Carl Dean Knatcal of Florida; one daughter, Alice Faye Knight of New Jersey; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. 

Charles attended Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia, Missouri, later joining the United States Marine Corps where he served from June 29, 1956 until April 1, 1959. He had lived in this area for fifty-two years and had been employed by EFCO Corporation in Monett as a welder from where he retired. Charles enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on old cars. He was of the Baptist faith and attended First Baptist Church in Purdy. 

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 15, 2022 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
