Wilson Marseilles: Chamber of Commerce Helped Local Employees Connect with Childcare Providers

The Harrison Chamber of Commerce has helped local employees connect with childcare providers according to the Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Wilson Marseilles.

Marseilles appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Friday to talk about that and more. The conversations with childcare providers began after Marseilles spoke with a human resources manager who works for a local employer. This individual told Marseilles that finding care for children is a challenge for the employees of the company.

That's because it has employees seeking the service for their young kids. Parents wanting to return to work but have kids younger than three are facing the challenge of finding a place to care for their young ones.

There was hope of a solution, but it fell through. Marseilles had a simple solution.

He directed the human resources manager to a spreadsheet containing names of all of the childcare businesses in Boone County. Marseilles said the list is now used a tool in the problem.

Now the company can help parents address their childcare needs. More was discussed on the broadcast.

The full interview with Marseilles is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page
