Veteran Day Activities in Branson, Harrison

The week-long Veterans Homecoming Week wraps up in the Lakes Region today. 

This morning, College of the Ozarks is hosting their annual Sunrise Service while the Veterans Day Parade steps off in Downtown Branson at 11:00. 

The City of Branson reminds motorists that Branson Landing Boulevard, Commercial Street, Sycamore Street, and Long Street around the Convention Center will be closed during the parade. In addition, the Missouri Department of Transportation announced last week that the Highway 76/Business 65 Bridge over Lake Taneycomo will be open to traffic between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm while the lower bridge is closed due to the parade. After 4:00, the upper bridge will close again for the finish of the rehabilitation project. 

Other activities today include events in Harrison. The Jack Williams Veterans Resource Center, also known as Camp Jack, is conducting ceremonies today beginning with the placing of flags at the Boone County Courthouse this morning. The Kiwanis Club of Harrison, Recovery Center of the Ozarks, and the Key Clubs from Harrison, Bergman, and Valley Springs High School will also take part in the ceremony. That will be followed by a Veterans Day Celebration at Camp Jack at 11 am. Retired Sergeant First Class Bill Boswell with be the Keynote Speaker. The Rock Church will provide a Lunch for Veterans to follow.
