The Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism announces through a press release more than $3.6 million in Outdoor Recreation Grants awarded to projects within 25 counties across the state.
The grants are divided into two categories: Matching Grants and Facilities for Underdeveloped Neighborhoods Park Grants.
One area community, Valley Springs, has received over $91,000 in the Matching Grant category to construct a pavilion, improve accessibility, and install lighting, impact surfacing and park amenities at Valley Springs City Park.
Meanwhile, Hickory Park in Mountain Home also was awarded funds for improvements with the Northwest Arkansas Economic Development District in Harrison assisting the City of Mountain Home with its grant proposal according to a report from KTLO.
