Updates at Boone County Library and Dr. Suess Week

Boone County welcomes a new employee and anticipates fun activities this March, like Dr. Suess Week.

The library's Terry Register and Beth Kaffenberger appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" with the new employee and information for the month. The new employee is Corina McDonald. She's the library's new outreach director. She said she will handle adult programs. She has already set her sights on community events.

McDonald wants to get the library involved with the fair and Crawdad Days again. Aside from that, the county's world of books has a lot happening in March, especially within the first week.

Part of that activity includes Dr. Suess Week. Register said the library will allow guests and employees to dress up in Suess themed clothes during that first week.

That week will include:

  • Character Day on March 3 - Dress as a favorite Suess character.
  • Hat Day on March 4 - Wear a Suess themed hat.
  • Crazy shoes on March 5
  • Silly socks on March 6 - Register said roll up those pants to show off those socks.
  • Twin Day on March 7 - Partner up with someone else to dress like twins.
  • Reading T-Shirt Day on March 8

Each day is different, but they're all about Dr. Suess. More was discussed during the broadcast.

The full interview with Register, Kaffenberger and McDonald is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
