The Harrison Public Schools Foundation Luncheon is approaching, according to Michael Bardwell.
Bardwell appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to talk about it. It's scheduled for Oct. 29 at 11:30 a.m. at the Creekside Community Center.
He said a distinguished alumus and distinguished educator are recognized. The foundation has a new honor.
Bardwell said the new award is a "legacy award." It spotlights individuals or families who has helped the district in an exceptional way. There's another award that Bardwell described as "kind of a one off."
It's a "lifetime of service award." Bardwell named the recipents of the awards.
- Mike McNutt - Distinguished Alumnus Award
- Tommy Nelson - Distinguished Educator Award
- Fred and Tammy Gary - Legacy Award
- Judge Rob McCorkindale - Lifetime of Service Award
The luncheon is an annual event. Bardwell said he thinks the foundation has run for close to 26 years.
Bardwell said the function of the foundation is to fund grants. The GOBSmobile, SMART Boards and more are just a few things funded by the foundation.
Tickets for the luncheon are available for purchase online. More was discussed on the broadcast.
