The National Weather Service reports a Tornado touched down in Christian County as part of Sunday night's storm system that moved through the region.
A survey team from the weather service confirms that an EF-1 Tornado touched down northeast of Highlandville and moved east, eventually crossing Highway 65 near Selmore before dissipating. The report states the tornado was on the ground for around five minutes and traveled just under three and a half miles. Maximum winds were estimated at 100 MPH with the width of the tornado destruction estimated at 100 yards.
Damage reported due to the tornado including pushing a pool house of its foundation, destroying one outbuilding and damaging the roof of another building, and uprooting several trees.
