
An isolated thunderstorm early Tuesday evening causes damage in the Shell Knob area.
According to a report from the Central Crossing Fire Protection District, a boat and several boats were flipped over in the Discovery Bay area east of Shell Knob. There were several other docks that had cables snap or come loose due to the storm along with several tree branches snapped which is believed to have been caused by straight line winds during the storm. No injuries have been reported.
The storms in the region have increased as the Heatwave that has impacted the Lakes Region is about to end.
Southern Missouri and northern Arkansas are under Heat Advisories today which will end early this evening. Temperatures are predicted to reach around 100 today before a frontal system will increase the chance of rain and decrease the temperatures.
Most areas will stay in the 90s for highs on Thursday but by Friday, forecasts indicate highs in the low to mid 80s and low into the 60s going through the weekend.
Another warm-up is expected to commence early next week.
