State Board of Election Reviews 2024, Looks to 2025

The State Board of Election Commissioners voted last week to send complaints for violations of state election law to seven of the 11 Arkansas counties that were monitored during the 2024 general election according to a report from the Arkansas Advocate.

Details of those complaints are protected under the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act for several months until sanctions are distributed, or a public hearing is scheduled according to the report.

Only one area county was in the audit group this year. Searcy County, the only county to hand count ballots in the state, was selected for monitoring again this year because it did not get 100% on their previous audit report.

Two other area counties, Marion and Newton, have been selected at random to be monitored in this year’s election.
