On Thursday Clark Middleton appeared on Around The Table on KHOZ to discuss putting on the Carol Burnett Show at the Lyric Theater.
“It’s a completely different kind of show than a straight comedy, or a musical or even a drama,” Middleton said. He said they are wanting to show Harrison something a little different and very high energy. “Everybody loved Carol Burnett when her show was on, and I can’t believe it’s been 50 years.”
Middleton said they will do seven of Burnett’s original sketches/skits. He said they will “call it eight” sketches because there is a surprise at the end. The show starts on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and on 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are available for purchase at the door. Slightly lower priced tickets are available online. This is the first time Middleton has done Carol Burnett shows; he tried to put them on in the summer and fall. While the theater has water damage, it is still usable. A fundraiser for the theater’s restoration is almost active.
The full interview with Middleton is on Around The Table’s Facebook Page.
