A Searcy County man has been arrested for chasing a car, using his vehicle to block that car on U.S. Highway 65 and then threatening one of the occupants inside. Thirty-two-year-old John Lee Buckner of Marshall is facing five charges for the incident, two of them felonies.
According to the probable cause affidavit from the Searcy County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened Sunday evening when the victim reported she was traveling through Marshall and passed Buckner’s vehicle and he turned around and started chasing her. He tried calling her, but she wouldn’t answer her phone, so another female in Buckner’s vehicle called and threatened the victim.

The victim told law enforcement Buckner was extremely close to her vehicle and she was afraid he was going to run her off the road. The chase continued along Highway 65 towards Leslie where Buckner passed the victim. The victim tried to go around Buckner on the shoulder, but Buckner blocked the shoulder and then blocked the southbound lane of the highway with his truck. The female in Buckners vehicle got out and began approaching the victim’s vehicle before she was able to back up and start driving back towards Marshall and contact law enforcement.
There was video footage of the incident provided to law enforcement, including audio of the phone call.
Buckner is facing felony charges of first degree false imprisonment and aggravated assault along with misdemeanor charges of second degree terroristic threatening, obstructing a highway and carless and prohibited driving. He is free after posting $25,000 bond.
