The Harrison Chamber of Commerce recently had the opportunity to attend a strategy-focused meeting, and the city is undergoing a study.
Amy Deere, Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce's director of investors and events appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to talk about the meeting. Over 70 people attended the meeting at the Youth Center, and attendees heard about community development from Jeremy Murdock of Retail Strategies. He is a community development specialist.
Retail Strategies is performing a study funded via grant money by the Northwest Arkansas Economic Development District (NWAEDD). As part of that, members of the previously mentioned company walked around downtown Harrison to determine what the city already has.
Deere highlighted the good that was identified during that walk around. Murdock was pleased with the flower beds that Harrison's master gardeners keep.
Once the research is complete, Deere said Retail Strategies will provide the chamber with ideas to update downtown. More was discussed on the broadcast.
The full interview with Deere is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
