A plan several years in the making is coming to fruition.
The Stone County Health Department has a new building under construction in Reeds Spring which will allow most of the departments to relocate to that central location.
Health Department Director Pam Burnett, during a recent "At Your Service" podcast with the Stone County Community Health Coalition, said that the building located on Highway 13 and Old Wilderness Road is a 10,000 Square Feet facility that will eventually replace the current space they rent in Branson West. In addition, the Galena Office will operate on a limited schedule once the new building is open but is still tentatively scheduled to be open three days a week.
Burnett also said that the department will partner with Stone County Emergency Management to house their Emergency Trailer and provide space for a Command Center.
Burnett says the building is on track to be completed early in 2024.
The complete segment with Pam Burnett on the new building can be heard below with the entire program can be heard on the Branson Podcast Network.
