On Monday, North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC) in Harrison announced they have been undergoing a comprehensive realignment over the past 18 months. Officials state the realignment is aimed at securing the stainability of high-quality healthcare services for the community.
KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot News reached out to NARMC about the number of employees or services affected and at the time of publication, it was not available. NARMC states they are working with affected employees to place them in open roles within the organization where possible.

NARMC CEO Sammie Cribbs Roberson, CEO stated, “This strategic organizational adjustment is a necessary step to position NARMC for long-term success. We deeply appreciate the hard work and dedication of our employees who have been impacted by these changes. We are committed to providing support and assistance to affected individuals during this challenging time.”

Officials state the decision stems from more than eighteen months spent working on growth and cost containment strategies. Factors such as rising supply costs, diminishing insurance reimbursements, and the complexities of the current labor market have prompted NARMC to take steps to provide quality healthcare going forward. This initiative involves a strategic redesign of some services that are unsustainable or experiencing reduced demand.

NARMC officials stressed the hospital is not currently involved in any transactions such as selling, merging, facing bankruptcy or closing. The decision to realign operations is a strategic business move intended to ensure the enduring viability of our organization.

Roberson stated, “This realignment is a step towards navigating the historic financial headwinds we face in the healthcare sector. By aligning our resources with community needs and making strategic adjustments, we aim to not only maintain but elevate the standard of healthcare services we provide and this initiative reflects our commitment to adapt, evolve, and continue growing exceptional healthcare services for our community.”

NARMC is a nonprofit healthcare system consisting of a central hospital in Harrison, Arkansas and 18 clinics serving the rural communities of North Arkansas.
