HARRISON, Ark. — The North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC) Foundation is gearing up for a full lineup of Christmas events, including its annual parade watch party and the seventh annual Santa Shuffle Fun Run.
Dan Dillard and Kim Rosson from the foundation discussed the events during their appearance on KHOZ’s “Around The Table” on Wednesday.
Christmas Parade and Watch Party Set for Dec. 1
Before the Santa Shuffle takes place, the NARMC Foundation will host its annual Christmas parade watch party on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. at NARMC. Dillard encouraged attendees to arrive early for free cookies and cocoa. Seating will be available for guests who want to watch the parade from the medical center.
Next to the watch party, the foundation will again offer “Cocoa for a Cause.” Dillard said the effort began last year. While free cocoa and cookies will still be available, anyone who purchases the special cocoa will receive a Grinch mug. Proceeds will help the hospital purchase heart monitors for NARMC’s cardiac rehab department.
Seventh Annual Santa Shuffle Fun Run Returns Dec. 6
One of the featured holiday traditions is the seventh annual Santa Shuffle Fun Run, scheduled for Dec. 6 at 10 a.m., starting at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center.
Anyone wanting to participate must donate a new, unwrapped toy meant for children from birth through high school age. Once the toy is donated, participants will receive a Santa suit to wear during the run. Dillard said the event is the foundation’s way of giving back to the community while having fun.
Dillard emphasized that participants do not have to run—walking is welcome. Rosson added that anyone willing to take part can do so. She also noted that there is no required spending amount for donated toys. Gifts will be distributed to organizations with which the foundation partners.
After the run, participants will receive cookies and cocoa. Dillard also said local restaurants partnering with the foundation will offer discounts to anyone dining in their Santa suit. Rosson encouraged those who choose not to participate to come watch because it is “really a sight to see.” Christmas music will play during the event.
Dillard expressed gratitude to Kinetic for sponsoring the Santa Shuffle. More was discussed on the broadcast.
The full interview with Dillard and Rosson is on the “Around The Table” Facebook page.
