JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – As Missouri prepares for its third round of cannabis microbusiness licensing, The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) has advanced a set of proposed changes with the goal of tightening regulations and preventing abuse of a program designed to promote equity in the marijuana industry.
The DHSS filed proposed amendments to two key cannabis regulations on Friday, showing a more aggressive stance against what some officials may call “predatory practices” that have presented them challenges in earlier licensing rounds.
The proposed changes, which will be published in the Dec. 15 issue of the Missouri Register, are designed to help support the integrity of the microbusiness program by getting rid of loopholes that allow ineligible people, companies, or entities to get licenses through deceptive means.
