Members of the First Harrison Historic District Commission Selected

The City of Harrison has selected the first members of their Historic District Commission.

At last week's Harrison City Council Meeting., Chief Operations Officer Wade Phillips addressed council members and submitted a list of names to be appointed to the commission. The five people,  Pat Brown, Andi Esters, Cathy Golden, Wayne Keith, and Ken Savills, were approved by a unanimous vote of the board.

The city created the commission last August. According to an earlier release from the city,  the commission was formed to help with the preservation and protection of buildings, sites, places, and districts of historic interest.  Among the boards early priorities will be to create a Historic District and develop and implement design guidelines for conserving historic structures within that district.

The latest release from the city says that a date for the first meeting of the commission has yet to be set.
