A Marion County man is charged with felony counts of theft and criminal mischief after crashing a stolen utility task vehicle (UTV).
According to the probable cause affidavit, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an accident. Upon arrival they 41-year-old Cameron Ply crashed a Polaris Ranger UTV belonging to another individual.
According to the victim, the UTV had been stolen a few days prior from a residence in Pyatt and had been parked on his property. On the morning of the crash, Ply entered the victim’s home where he entered his bedroom uninvited. After a confrontation, Ply got into the UTV and drove away. The victim followed Ply until he ultimately crashed into a fence. The vehicle sustained extensive damage.
Ply is currently being held in the Marion County Detention Center on $5,000 bond.
