A week that began with the arrest of the Marion County Librarian ends the dissolution of the Library Board.
On Monday according to a release from Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander, 52-year-old Dana Scott, whose is listed as a Branson resident, was arrested on one count of Failure to Pay or File Tax Returns and two counts of Tampering with Public Records.
Alexander says in the release that an investigation determined Scott had not followed laws involving county funds as well as misuse of a county credit card, and that she falsified public records related to purchases made with a county credit card.
Scott posted a $1500 bond and was released pending a future court date.
After the arrest, an Emergency Meeting of the Marion County Library Board was held on Thursday. According to a report by KTLO, County Judge Jason Stumph addressed the meeting, saying the board is responsible for overseeing the director and failed to do so, leading to his decision to remove all board members from their positions effectively dissolving the board.
Stumph said they would officially vote on officially removing the Library Board Members at the next Marion County Quorum Court session which is next Tuesday.
