Many organizations will participate in the volunteer expo at the end of this month.
The expo will feature at Signature Bank on Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It's an informational event that will also present attendees with volunteer opportunities. Hope Cottages is one of the participants. A volunteer from Hope Cottages appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to talk about the expo and more.
Hope Cottages offers housing on a transitional basis for mothers raising children. Chrissie Larchez serves as a volunteer. She works to assess whether or not mothers seeking to join the program are a fit for Hope Cottages.
Harrison's Lions Club will also participate in the expo. The club's newly elected president Angela Ballard and Carrie Richter also appeared on "Around The Table" to talk about their involvement in the event. Ballard emphasized the club's effort to help provide vision care both on the local and national level. The club has a hand in more causes too.
Richter expressed excitement about Lions Club and the expo. Richter said the volunteer expo will have a free lunch, and she hinted at door prizes.
