A man that confessed to killing his wife in Arkansas while in a Branson hospital will spend the rest of his life in prison.

76-year-old Jeffrey David Stansbery of St. Joe reached a plea agreement with prosecutors in Searcy County after he admitted to killing his wife, 43-year-old Amanda Stansbery and dismembering the body in early September of 2024. Jeffrey Stansbery had gone to Cox Medical Center in Branson seeking treatment on September 5 of 2024 and made statements about harming his wife. The Hospital contacted the Searcy County Sheriff's office who in turn contacted the Branson Police Department to conduct an interview with Stansbery. That interview led Searcy County officers to the Stansbery home in St. Joe where the body of Amanda Stansbery was eventually discovered.

Stansbury had spent time in prison previously for assaulting his previous wife when he lived in Texas.

Stansbury remains in the Searcy County Jail in Marshall but will eventually be transferred to an Arkansas State Corrections Facility.
