
A man has been arrested for allegedly taking up-skirt pictures of women at the Harrison Walmart in May. The man, 68-year-old Varnell Johnson of Dennard, is facing five charges in connection with the incident.

According to the probable cause affidavit from the Harrison Police Department, officers were called to the Walmart store for a suspicious person. When they arrived, the spoke to a woman who said a man had taken a picture under her daughter’s dress. The 20-year-old woman was looking at make-up and was unaware of the incident until another shopper told her about the incident.
The officer then spoke with the store’s asset protection member who provided video evidence of the incident, showing Johnson placing his phone under the victim’s dress and then walking off.
As they searched more video, the saw Johnson take more up-skirt photos of another female. They also saw the vehicle Johnson got in when he left the store.
Then, using the Flock Safety cameras on U.S. Highway 65 south of Harrison, police were able to locate Johnson’s vehicle, get his license plate information and his name and address. They then compared his driver’s license and Facebook photos to the security footage from Walmart to positively identify him.
Johnson is facing one felony count of commercial burglary and four misdemeanor counts of video voyeurism. He is free on $15,000 bond.
