A long-time member of the Harrison City Council dies just weeks before her final term in office was wrapping up.
The city announces on their Facebook page the passing of Mary Jean Creager, who served on the Harrison City Council for a decade representing Ward 1 at the age of 88. Creager had been fighting an illness for several months and had decided not to seek reelection to her council seat.
Creager served on several city committees including being the Chair of the Public Safety Committee.
Several city officials, including Mayor Jerry Jackson, Fire Chief Marc Lowery, and Police Chief Chris Gaddy praised the work Creager had done over the years to help Public Safety and the City overall.
Services for Mary Jean Creager will be this Saturday at the Creekside Community Center with Visitation starting at 12:00 pm with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 pm.
