A man from Lead Hill is facing charges for Attempted Murder and Domestic Battery for an incident that happened last weekend.

Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander reports the arrest of Christopher Robert Collier, 40 YOA, of Lead Hill on charges of Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder 2nd Degree, a Class "B" Felony, and Domestic Battery 1st Degree, also a Class "B" Felony, with a bond set at $250,000.00.
On 01/11/26, the Marion County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) received a report of a physical domestic dispute at a residence on State Highway 14 North in the rural Lead Hill area of Marion County. An adult female victim reported that during an argument, Collier grabbed a large knife and attempted to stab her resulting in a wound to her arm. The victim also reported that Collier poured gasoline on her and attempted to light the residence on fire but was unable to get his lighter to ignite. The victim was able to get out of the residence and leave with family members where she received treatment for her injury at a local hospital. Deputies attempted contact with Collier at his residence, but he would not respond to repeated requests.
MCSO Investigators responded to the scene and were able to contact COLLIER through a window of his residence. Collier initially refused to leave his residence but after a short conversation with Investigators, he surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident. Investigators processed the scene and located evidence consistent with the victim's allegations.
Collier was transported to the Marion County Detention Center (MCDC) where he was booked processed and incarcerated. He is currently being held pending his initial appearance in Marion County Circuit Court.
