An Economic Development Program is getting underway in Stone County.
Sheila Thomas, President/CEO of the Table Rock Lake Chamber of Commerce, says "Launch Stone County" began in May with the goal of raising money for an Economic Development Program. Thomas says to this point, around $775,000 has been raised of the $1.1 million goal that has been set with the public launch of the initiative scheduled for August 31st at the monthly Chamber Luncheon at First Baptist Church Kimberling City.
Thomas said some information is already available, including on the Chamber's Website. Thomas adds that the goal of the program will be to eventually hire an Economic Director full-time and to foster development as well as doing a comprehensive housing study.
