The Branson Lakes Region is in a great position to see continued growth in the Tourism Industry according to the newly appointed Executive Director of the Tourism Community Enhancement District.
Kirk Elmquist during a visit to KRZK’s “Ozarks Now” program talks of how Branson and the Lakes Region has the perfect combination of the outdoors, entertainment, and attractions to have visitors make return trips to the area while also attracting new visitors.
Elmquist also addressed the current discussions between the City of Branson and the Branson Chamber on the marketing of the city. Elmquist clarified as did Branson Mayor Larry Milton in a recent Branson Tri-Lakes News story that there are two different funds, the contract that Branson directly has with the Chamber for marketing from its Tourism Tax and the TCED contract with the Chamber that includes Branson as well as areas in Stone County around Shepherd of the Hills and Silver Dollar City. Elmquist says he has been encouraged by recent dialogue on all sides to come up with the best plan to attract visitors to the Lakes Region.
