In conjunction with the Statewide Free Fishing Weekend in Missouri, a youth fishing event will be held in Branson.

According to a release from the Missouri Department of Conservation, the Kid's Fishing Event will be held at the  Belladonna Education Pond at Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery to help young people age 15 and younger to learn about fishing and to attempt to catch some sunfish and catfish. While there will be some loner fishing equipment and worms available, participants are encouraged to bring their own.

The event, which takes place from 9:00 to 12:00 this Saturday morning, is in conjunction with Free Fishing Weekend in Missouri. Dan Vanderhoef, one of the Barry County Agents for the Missouri Department of Conservation, said during the latest edition of the "At Your Service" podcast that  fishing permits are not required at any state-managed fishing location through the weekend fishing regulations such as length limits amd possession limits still apply.

More details on the event and Free Fishing Weekend can be found with the full interview on the Branson Podcast Network.
