Holiday Basketball Tournaments Impact Local Economies

The week between Christmas and New Year’s brings quite of few Holiday Basketball Tournaments to the region. 

An Ozarks First features describes how the two big tournaments in Springfield, the Blue and Gold at Missouri State and the Pink and White Lady Classic at Drury University, help increase sales in local businesses, especially restaurants. 

Lakes Area Schools including Branson, Crane, Spokane, and Reeds Spring are playing in one or both tournaments in Springfield while several other schools are playing in a tournament in nearby communities Ash Grove and Morrisville.

Harrison is also hosting a pair of High School Basketball events this week with the Holiday Tournament at North Arkansas College going through the week and the annual Lendel Thomas Classic taking place at Harrison High School Wednesday through Friday. Berryville High School is also hosting their annual Holiday Tournament Wednesday through Friday.
