
Harrison has been busy recently with several athletic events going on around the area.
According to an article posted on the City of Harrison Website, a meeting of the city’s Parks and Recreation Commission heard updates on the events including a Be Elite Basketball Tournament that had 71 teams competing over three days including over 30 teams that stayed in Harrison during the event. Teams from Arkansas and Missouri along with squads from five other states participated in the event.
Meanwhile, Parks and Recreation Director Chuck Eddington recapped the recent Regional Baseball and Softball Tournament’s played at the Equity Bank Sports Complex, which had over 30 teams taking part in the event, which was co-hosted by the Omaha and Valley Springs School Districts.
In addition to what was discussed at the recent meeting, this past weekend, more tournaments were held at the Equity Bank Sports Complex with Harrison School’s hosted the 5A Baseball and Softball Championships while Bergman Schools co-hosted the 3A Soccer Championships at the Anstaff Soccer Complex.
