Harrison Moose Lodge Helps Children and the Elderly

Another organization aims to help children and the elderly, according to Peggy McBride.

McBride is the administrator of Harrison Moose Lodge. She appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to talk about the organization's work. It helps a community of children without parents or suitable care in Chicago and a community of elderly people in Florida. McBride said those are the largest charities that the local group helps.

The children in the program are assisted from birth through high school. This is an alternative to foster care and requires a sponsor from the lodge. They help the elderly in the form of assisted living.

McBride said it's a "beautiful" place located in Orange Beach. Anyone in the area can live there as long as they qualify. Moose Lodge membership is straightforward.

McBride said applicants must be at least 21 and pay yearly dues. She said they start at $40 and go up to $60 depending on the lodge's location. More was discussed on the broadcast.

The full interview with McBride is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
