A man from Harrison is facing charges in Baxter County for an attempt to sell property that he did not own.
A report by Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery posted on the department's website, 18-year-old Joshua Cooper is facing charges of Theft of Property. Montgomery says in the report that last Monday, his department was contacted by a person who believed that a friend was in the process of buying a vehicle from a person who he believed did not own it. The add had appeared on the online site Facebook Marketplace.
The vehicle was parked at a location just outside of Mountain Home and an investigation determined the actual owner of the property who verified it was not for sale and did not know Cooper.
A sheriff's investigator accompanied the buyer to meet Cooper and once all of the paperwork was signed, Cooper was arrested.
Cooper posted a $5,000 atter being taken to the Baxter County Detention Center and has an appearance in Baxter County Circuit Court scheduled for this Monday.
