A Harrison man was released on bond after allegedly leading a Baxter County Sheriff’s deputy on a high‑speed pursuit that nearly resulted in a head‑on collision.
Dillon Kelly, 33, faces charges of fleeing by vehicle, first‑degree reckless driving, speeding more than 15 miles per hour over the limit, and improper passing on the left. According to the incident report, Deputy Conner Stanton was traveling south on Highway 126 North around 7:14 p.m. when his radar recorded a northbound truck at 80 mph in a 55‑mph zone. The driver accelerated further after passing the deputy, prompting the pursuit.
During the chase, the truck reportedly crossed into the opposite lane to pass another vehicle, forcing an oncoming driver to brake abruptly. The pursuit continued onto Highway 5 North, where the truck eventually pulled into a driveway at 6036 Highway 5 North and stopped.
Kelly was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Baxter County Jail and later released on a $1,310 bond.
