Harrison Coming Back to Main Street Program

Harrison is coming back into the Main Street program.

Harrison IT Director David Wilson and Harrison Communications Manager Donna Braymer appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to talk about the Main Street Harrison comeback. The city was accepted back into the Main Street project again a while ago, but the city couldn't make the news public until Aug. 11. Main Street membership brings an extra layer of strength to participating cities.

Braymer said it makes grant money opportunities available. Main Street cities can receive funds from the state of Arkansas. Those monies can go toward helping business owners and the downtown area. While the project's Harrison board of directors is already selected, Braymer said there are committee spots that need filling.

There are four committees, including: Organization, Promotion, Design and Economic Vitality. Braymer encouraged interested individuals to reach out to the board, of which she's a member. Wilson's role in the city has gone beyond his professional title.

The IT director and others have helped develop the downtown retail scene. More was discussed on the broadcast.

The full interview Braymer and Wilson is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
