The Harrison City Council is holding a special meeting this afternoon.
According to the agenda released by the city, it will be to reconsider the resolution request by Baxter Regional Medical Center through the Arkansas Community Match Recruitment Program to provide funds for a new physician to join the Baxter facility in Harrison.
At last Thursday’s regular meeting, on a tie-breaking vote cast by Mayor Jerry Jackson, the resolution was denied. Jackson stated during the meeting that he had nothing against Baxter Regional but was showing support for the local North Arkansas Regional Medical Center.
The meeting will take place this afternoon at 5:00 at Harrison City Hall.
