Former Arkansas Governor, Representative David Pryor Passes Away

Tributes are coming in from both Democrats and Republicans after the announcement of the passing of David Pryor on Saturday at the age of 89. 

Pryor, a Democrat, served in the Arkansas House from 1960 through 1966 then elected to the U.S. House where he served through 1972. After losing a senate bid in 72, Pryor was elected Arkansas Governor in 1974 serving for four years until getting elected to the U.S. Senate in 1978 and serving until he retired in 1997. 

Former President and Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton, former Democratic Governor Mike Beebe along with current and past Republican Governors Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Asa Hutchison were among those paying tribute to Pryor as were current members of Arkansas’s Congressional Delegation including Senator Tom Cotton and House Members Rick Crawford and Steve Womack.

Pryor died of Natural Causes according to a report by the Associated Press
