A man is jailed after resisting arrest when officers attempted to serve a warrant.

The press release  below is from the Marion County Sheriff's Office:

Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander reports the arrest of James Brent Torres, 47 of Flippin, on four  counts of Possession of Firearms by Certain Person(s), a Class “D” Felony, and one count of Resisting Arrest, a Class “A” Misdemeanor.

On 06/24/25, Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Deputies attempted to serve a valid Felony arrest warrant issued for Torres by the Marion County Circuit Court for the offense of Possession of Firearms by Certain Person(s), a Class “D” Felony, at his residence on Marion County Road 7058, Flippin. Sheriff Alexander knocked on the door and identified himself to Torres, who attempted to shut the door to keep from being taken into custody. Sheriff Alexander pushed through the door, attempting to take Torres into custody, but he began to actively resist.

Torres continued to resist arrest until additional Deputies made entry into the residence and were able to restrain him. While resisting arrest, Torres retrieved a black handgun from his waistband and threw it behind the bed.

MCSO Investigators executed a search warrant at the residence later in the evening of 06/24/25. During the execution of the search warrant, two additional firearms and ammunition were found in Torres’ bedroom.

Torres is currently incarcerated in the Marion County Detention Center in lieu of a $25,000 cash only bond awaiting his first appearance in the Marion County Circuit Court.
