A fire Monday afternoon destroyed a home in Marion County.
No one was home when the fire broke out, and no injuries were reported. The house belonging to Dana Rackley was located at 859 MC7031 on the bluff overlooking the White River.
Flippin Fire Chief Glenn Chapman says when firefighters arrived, the home was already fully involved, and the strong winds Monday made fighting the blaze especially difficult. Firemen spent over three and a half hours on the scene, but the house, a travel trailer next to the residence and an out building were all destroyed.
The Flippin Fire Department was assisted by firefighters from the Rea Valley, Cotter, Gassville, Cotter-Gassville Rural, Yellville, Summit and Fairview fire departments.
