Federal Government Shutdown Continues

The Federal Government Shutdown is entering its sixth day with the Trump Administration and Congress still at odds on an agreement to get it funded and running again.

Some essential services supplied by Law Enforcement and Military personnel will continue as well as the distribution of Social Security Benefits. The National Weather Service will also continue basic operations such as issuing forecasts and monitoring severe weather situations and continue updating websites and social media pages.

In the meantime, many services that are provided by the federal government are on hold and several agencies are shutdown including several federal offices throughout the country.

A couple of votes in the U.S. Senate could reopen the government including one scheduled for late today supported by Democrats that extends certain health benefits that Republicans have opposed. If that bill doesn't pass, another one supported by Republicans could be brought up that would extended federal funding for several weeks.
