The entire Lakes Region is under an Excessive Heat Warning.
For the Missouri Lakes Region Counties of Barry, Stone, Taney, and Ozark including the Branson and Kimberling City areas, that Heat Warning is in effect through Thursday evening while for the Arkansas Lakes Region Counties of Carroll, Boone, Marion, Newton, and Searcy, the Warning currently is through Tuesday.
High Temperatures are expected to be around 100 or higher through the week with overnight lows only into the mid 70’s. No rain is in the forecast for the week.
Extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities according to a statement from the National Weather Service.
