Economic Development Forums Scheduled in Stone County

The first two in a series of Economic Development Public Forums in Stone County are happening next week.

The Table Rock Chamber of Commerce along with the Stone County Commission will host the open meetings to get further input on a Economic Development Plan for the county.

O'Brien and Associates out of Joplin will conduct the meeting, which is a follow-up to survey's that were conducted in June.

“We really need to hear from leaders in the county and the general public for this process to be successful,” said Sheila Thomas, Chamber President/CEO in a press release. “We know that failing to plan is planning to fail, so we believe this is vital. A county economic development plan needs to reflect the vision of its residents and stakeholders.”

Next week's meetings will take place Tuesday (7/20) at the New Testament Christian Church in Reeds Spring at 5:30 pm and on Wednesday (7/21) at the Crane Public Library at 9 am. Two other meetings will take place on August 17 at the Hilltop Church in Crane at 5:30 pm and on August 18 at City Hall in Kimberling City at 7:30 am.

All who live and work in Stone County are invited to participate.
