While the Lakes Region has seen several rounds of rain, the level of drought for most of the area remains steady.
The new map released Thursday from the U.S. Drought Monitor still shows central and southern Barry County and extreme southwestern Stone County in Missouri along most of Carroll County and western Boone County in Arkansas including the Harrison area under Extreme Drought.
Extreme Drought levels indicate a continued stress on water levels and crops in the region.
Meanwhile, most of the rest of the Lakes Region including the Branson area remains in Severe Drought with the recent rainfall having improve conditions slightly.
Searcy County in Arkansas has benefited the most from the recent rain as most of the county is either at a Moderate Drought or Abnormally Dry Level.
While conditions around the region have stabilized, National Weather Service Forecasters do indicate that Drought Levels will persists through the end of the month and into September.
