A deceased male whose body was located following a residential fire in Oakland last month died of natural causes.
Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander says he received notification Tuesday from the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock confirming 51-year-old Jason Todd Nale’s death was coronary-related.
According to Sheriff Alexander, 911 received a call after 8 on the evening Nov. 18 from a concerned neighbor reporting an out-of-control fire at some property adjacent to Arkansas Highway 202. The fire consumed some outbuildings and several acres surrounding the buildings. Attempts to locate and contact the property owner were unsuccessful, but first responders had reason to believe the owner had been on the property.
Due to inclement weather conditions, a search was planned for the next morning. The Oakland Volunteer Fire Department responded again around 7 that morning due to a fire flare up and subsequently located Nale’s body.
The Arkansas Forestry Commission also assisted on the scene.
