The City of Harrison along with the Convention and Visitors Bureau are considering making space in a building available.
CVB Executive Director Matt Bell floated the idea during Thursday night's Harrison City Council Meeting of getting a tenant for the second floor of the Harrison Visitor's Center on Stephenson Street which the CVB had been leasing from Bear State Bank prior to their being acquired by Arvest Bank. The building was eventually purchased by the city from Arvest with the CVB allowed to continue to house their office at that location.
Bell said some work has been done on the building and that the second floor has remained vacant. Bell says a possible solution to entice a potential occupant is to have them come in and fix up the second floor then occupy it with the no lease being collected until recouping the cost of the improvements.
More discussions will be had moving forward on the potential of a second tenant for that property.
