Cash First Taxi: A Harrison-Based Taxi Service

Cash First Taxi is a hobby that turned into a side business, according to Brandon Ruley.

Ruley appeared on KHOZ's " Around The Table" to talk about the service he provides. The taxi is available seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. There's an extra charge for any rides requested between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.

The service is not active during severe weather conditions. Instead, callers hear a voice message providing information about other options.

Ruley talked about how far he will travel. He's able to take riders to locations within a 150-mile radius. That includes places like Amtrak in Little Rock, the Little Rock airport and the Springfield, Missouri airport.

He got his start by driving for Uber and Lyft during retirement. People eventually asked how they could use his service. Knowing older citizens often don't download apps, he contacted the city and was directed to the secretary of state's office. The business has enjoyed running since about February of 2024.
